The Beckley Foundation Press was created to allow the publication of Drug Policy and Scientific material that was not being picked up by mainstream publishing houses due to the controversial nature of the material. Since its establishment in 2008, the Beckley Press has made great strides in bringing this type of literature to a wider audience and has formed publishing collaborations with other larger publishers such as Oxford University Press
