The Julia Rose Story
We would like to call your attention to a new documentary co-produced by Espolea and the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union as part of the “Count the Costs” campaign (www.countthecosts.org).
The story of Rosa Julia Leyva reflects the brutality of the Mexican prison system for victims of the war on drugs. Her story sheds light on the abuse of authority, the continuing violations of human rights, and criminal sentences that are completely disproportionate. Julia Rosa offers testimony to the ideal of a new society in which younger generations can have a better future. She calls for change in drug policy and the rule of law in the country.
