BF Drug Policy Publications

in BF drug policy publications - Intro

In 1998 when Amanda started the Beckley Foundation she was appalled by the lack of knowledge of the experts and the lack of scientific evidence on which policy decisions, with enormous repercussions, were based. The Beckley Foundation Drug Policy Programme (BFDPP) was set up to develop a scientifically-evaluated evidence base, and provide a rigorous, independent review of current global drug policy. It aims to cast light on the current dilemmas facing policymakers within governments and international agencies, and to work with them in order to promote objective and open debate on the effectiveness, direction and content of future drug policies. The foundation has to date published over 35 reports and briefing papers and convened a seminal report into global cannabis policy which was published in 2010 by the BF and Oxford University Press entitled Cannabis Policy: Moving Beyond Stalemate.
